Alstead 43566A & 43566B Public Official Meeting
NHDOT will present the proposed reconstruction of NH 123A as a result of the July 29-30, 2021 storm event in Alstead.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will hold a Public Officials/Informational Meeting to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed Alstead 43566A/43566B Route 123A roadway reconstruction project. NHDOT project will complete the Route 123A repairs as a result of the July 29-30, 2021 storm event that resulted from overtopping of the Vilas Pool Dam severely damaging and closing the roadway. The project is located approximately 0.2 miles north of the intersection at NH Route 123 and consists of approximately 1000 feet of roadway reconstruction and restoration.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 5:00 pm as part of the regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting at the Alstead Town Offices, 15 Mechanic Street in Alstead. The purpose of this meeting is to review the project constraints, anticipated construction required, and solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment.
An environmental review of the project’s potential impacts on natural and cultural resources is underway in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting.
