Bridge Rehabilitation on Bridge US 3/ NH 25 Ashland – Bridgewater
Traffic will be impacted for several months
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin rehabilitation of the bridge carrying US 3/ NH 25 over Pemigwaseet river and NH Railroad (NHRR) in Ashland and Bridgewater, starting Monday, May 12, 2025, and lasting approximately six months.
The bridge rehabilitation will be carried out in 2 phases, one phase in 2025 season and second phase in 2026 season. Rehabilitation work will include partial and full depth bridge deck replacement, bridge rail replacement, Pier repair in river and abutment repairs.
This work will require full-time closures of one lane at a time, leaving a 10’-6” wide travel lane. Alternating traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.
Sign packages are in place to notify traveling public. Road users should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs. This work is part of the Bridge rehabilitation project carrying US 3 /NH 25 in town of Ashland – Bridgewater. J. P. Sicard, Inc of Barton, VT is the general contractor for the $12.9 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2026.
