Daytime Lane Closure on the Haverhill and Bath Bridge
Traffic will be impacted on NH Route 135 Eastbound and Westbound for several months
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin work on the Haverhill-Bath Project on April 14, 2025, through April 18, 2025, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, installing construction signage, message boards and temporary signals. Starting on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, a temporary barrier will be set, and traffic will be alternated one-way through the work zone controlled by temporary signals.
The project consists of preservation of the bridge carrying NH Route 135 over the Ammonoosuc River in the Towns of Haverhill and Bath, also known as the Raymond S. Burton Bridge. The work includes removal and replacement of the bridge deck pavement along with other bridge rehabilitation work. The pedestrian access across the bridge will remain open at all times.
Road users should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs. Road users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.
R.M. Piper Inc. 141 Smith Bridge Road, Plymouth, NH is the prime contractor for the $898,412.30 contract with a completion date of October 2025.
