Daytime Lane Closure in Portsmouth
Traffic will be impacted on I-95 Northbound
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will start day work on I-95 northbound in Portsmouth. Starting from the Exit 5 on ramp (MM 14.6) to the Exit 7 off ramp (MM 15.0). This work will consist of the removal of snow and repair of temporary crash attenuator barrels along the northbound right shoulder.
Weather dependent, this work is scheduled for Thursday, February, 20, 2025 between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm and will require the use of a lane closure. The right lane and shoulder of northbound I-95 will be closed from MM 14.6 to MM 15.0.
Motorist should remain alert while traveling through the work zone and obey all posted signs. Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the travelling public. This work is part of the construction of two sound abatement walls and privacy fence along I-95 in Portsmouth. Northeast Earth Mechanics, Inc. of Pittsfield, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $18.7 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
