Daytime Lane Closures on the Northbound Spaulding Turnpike in Dover
Temporary lane closures will impact travel for approximately four weeks.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will perform daytime construction work on the northbound Spaulding Turnpike (Rt 16) in Dover to install temporary shielding under the Cocheco River Bridges.
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, construction crews will begin installing temporary shielding under the Cocheco River Bridges on the northbound barrel of the Spaulding Turnpike between Exits 8 and 9. This work is being performed in preparation for the upcoming bridge replacement work that will commence in the spring of 2025. Lane closures with uniformed police officers will be utilized to control traffic during these operations. Motorists should exercise caution when driving through the construction zone.
Work hours will be Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:00 am and 2:30 pm. The work is weather dependent and is expected to be completed in approximately 4 weeks.
