Hampton-Portsmouth Open House Meeting

NHDOT will present planned improvements to a section of the former Hampton Branch railroad.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will hold an Open House to present the planned improvements to a section of the former Hampton Branch railroad corridor, extending from the North Hampton/Hampton Town Line near the intersection of Post Road and US Route 1 to Barberry Lane in Portsmouth.  The project will span the communities of North Hampton, Greenland, Rye, and Portsmouth, and will improve the corridor for non-motorized use.  The completed facility will become a segment of the New Hampshire Seacoast Greenway.

The meeting will be held at the North Hampton School at 201 Atlantic Avenue, in North Hampton, on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm.  The meeting will be in an informal open house format with project materials available for inspection and project team members available to answer questions.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Citizens and public officials will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts to ensure that the project decisions meet public transportation needs and community goals, and to protect and enhance the natural, cultural, and socioeconomic environment.  Accordingly, NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
