New England 511 Traveler Information System Upgrade

New system to help motorists plan a commute or trip through New Hampshire, Maine or Vermont.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has launched an updated New England 511 Traveler Information System website that includes new features to help motorists navigate through Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont.

The New England 511 website provides real-time road and weather conditions, links to live cameras, notes on future events and more.

Upgrades to NewEngland511.org website include:

•    The updated website is mobile-friendly; it’s optimized for cell phone and tablet users.
•    The new base map uses Google Maps.
•    Local weather forecasts have been added.
•    An improved layer showing traffic speeds, displays exactly where traffic is delayed.
•    We have included a Waze layer on the map with their data so you can get all your information in one place.
•    You can now search on the map and plan a route to see if there are any incidents or construction that should be avoided.

The My Trips feature, now called My 511, has also been updated.  This application sends notifications to users, via email or text messages based on user created routes, that alerts them to construction or crashes that may impact a daily commute or any trip within Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.  Because of the extensive changes to the program, commuters that have used My Trips in the past will have to create a new account in the system.

The New England 511 website is the result of a partnership involving the Maine Department of Transportation, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the Vermont Agency of Transportation. Staff at all three organizations update the New England 511 system with real-time travel information 24 hours a day to help keep travelers informed and safe.
