Nighttime Lane Closures in Portsmouth
Traffic will be impacted on I-95 Southbound
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will perform work on I-95 Southbound and will start from the Exit 7 off ramp and the right lane and shoulder will be closed from MM 15.4 to MM 14.8. This work will consist of the extension of a portable concrete barrier along the Exit 7 On Ramp.
Weather dependent, work hours will begin on Monday March 10, 2025, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. This work will require the closure of the southbound right lane and shoulder of I-95 from MM 15.4 to MM 14.8.
Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the travelling public. Motorists should exercise caution when driving through the construction zone.

This work is part of the construction of two sound abatement walls and privacy fence along I-95 in Portsmouth. Northeast Earth Mechanics, Inc. of Pittsfield, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $18.7 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
