Nighttime Supermove from Portsmouth to Nashua
Rolling roadblocks and temporary road closures will impact road users along the route for several hours over three to four nights.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has approved the permit for RYCO HEAVY HAUL INC of Middleborough, Ma to transport heavy equipment from the seaport in Portsmouth to Middle Dunstable Road Nashua, NH.
Weather permitting, the supermove will begin transporting the next set of tanks at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, and will continue over the next several nights to complete the route. The heavy equipment will be parked off the roadway prior to commuting hours in one of several predetermined locations along the route. The supermove will continue each evening starting between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm and end each leg before the morning commute each day. The carrier’s intention is to complete the sequence of moves before the morning commute on Friday, January 10th, 2025, but may need to continue into the week of January 12th, 2025.
The hauling equipment and load is a storage tank measuring 129 feet long and 20 feet tall. On Tuesday night the equipment will travel on NH 33, NH 108, NH 101, NH 27, North Rd, NH 125, and NH 111. On Wednesday night the equipment will travel on NH 111, NH28, Range Rd, NH 111A, NH 3A, Central St, NH 3A, The Circumferential Hwy, Daniel Webster Hwy, E. Dunstable Rd. and Middle Dunstable Rd. To ensure the safety of the traveling public, infrastructure, and equipment there will be several road closures along the route that may last for 30 minutes or more. The remainder of the route will require rolling roadblocks for the duration of the move.
Travelers are urged to seek alternate routes on evenings when in proximity to the supermove.
Traffic control during the move will include yellow light escorts, NH State Police.
