Ossipee Public Officials Meeting

NHDOT will discuss the reconstruction of NH Route 16

Arrangements have been made by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation to hold a Public Officials Meeting to discuss the project which will improve a segment of NH Route 16 to provide a sustainable roadway. The project starts near mile marker 51.7, north of Polly's Crossing Road, and continues north approximately 2.2 miles and ends 1,000 feet south of the NH 16/ NH 16B/ Pine River Road intersection.  At this time, the project may impact identified potential historic properties within or immediately adjacent to the project area. Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act offers those Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources an opportunity to become Consulting Parties. The project team can provide more information on this process.

The meeting is scheduled to be part of the Ossipee Selectmen’s Meeting on Monday, September 13, 2021, 4:15 pm, at the Ossipee Town Hall, 55 Main Street, Center Ossipee, NH.

Citizens and public officials may have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts regarding existing deficiencies to ensure that the project decisions meet public transportation needs and community goals, and to protect and enhance the environment.  Accordingly, NHDOT assures that this project will be administered according to the requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all related statutes to ensure nondiscrimination.
