Road Closure and Detour on Rt 135 in Bath
Traffic will be detoured through the end of August
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin a culvert replacement on Rt 135 in Bath on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 9:00 AM. This work will require the road closuring Rt 135 approximately 150 feet north of the intersection of Rt 135 and Lock Road through the end of August.
This work is part of the Bath 44094 project, which involves replacing the existing 4-foot by 4-foot by 110-foot-long box culvert with a larger precast culvert measuring 8 feet by 8 feet and 110 feet long. The new culvert will include embedded grade controls to help manage water flow. Additional work will include replacing roadbed materials, paving the roadway, upgrading the existing cable guardrail to a W-beam guardrail, and reshaping the stream channel to align with the new culvert design.
There will be a signed detour guiding Road Users along Rt 5 in Vermont which is about 12 miles long and estimated to take approximately 17 minutes.
Kirk Fenoff and Son Excavating LLC, 24 Old Stage Road, Danville, VT 05828 is the prime contractor for the $1,013,144.89 Contract. The substantial completion date is August 22, 2025, with the final completion date of October 17, 2025.
