Wolfeboro 29615 Public Informational Meeting

NHDOT will present the project’s design progress and inform the community prior to the Town Meeting.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will hold a Public Informational Meeting to inform citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed Wolfeboro NH Route 28 project.  The project will improve approximately 1.6 miles of NH Route 28 beginning at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and ending at the intersection of NH Route 109 (Pickering Corner).  The purpose of the project includes improving the pavement conditions, drainage and water quality, and mobility and safety for all users of NH Route 28. 
  
The intent of the meeting is to present the project’s design progress and explain the roundabout and minimum-build intersection details.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Town of Wolfeboro’s Great Hall at 84 South Main Street in Wolfeboro.  In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be postponed to Thursday, March 6, 2025.  The Department will post notification to the NHDOT and Town websites. The anticipated agenda is:  
•    5:30 PM, Doors will open for informal viewing of presentation materials  
•    6:00 PM, Presentation following Selectboard Meeting  
•    7:00 PM, Question & Answer Session  
  
An environmental review of the project’s potential impacts on natural and cultural resources is underway in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.  This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting.
