Emergency Vehicles and Personnel need room to work - Move Over or Slow Down!
New Hampshire's Move Over Law (Section 265:37-a) requires drivers to slow down and move over when approaching stationary emergency vehicles, tow trucks, or any vehicles displaying flashing lights on the side of the road. This law is designed to protect first responders and other roadside workers from potential accidents. Drivers must move over to an adjacent lane if it's safe to do so or slow down to at least 20 mph below the speed limit when unable to change lanes.
