Acworth 43566C Public Officials/Informational Meeting

NHDOT will present the proposed repairs, discuss traffic control options, and constraints to repair NH 123A as a result of the July 29-30, 2021 storm event in Acworth.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will hold a Public Officials/Informational Meeting to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed Acworth 43566C NH Route 123A roadway and culvert repair project. NHDOT project will complete the NH 123A repairs as a result of the July 29-30, 2021 storm event that resulted from overtopping of the roadway and damage to the existing culvert headwall and wing walls. The NH Route 123A culvert is located approximately 0.55 miles west of Gate Mountain Road (MM 107).

The meeting will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 6:30 pm as part of the regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting at the Acworth Town Hall, Great Hall, 13 Town Hall Road, in Acworth.  The purpose of this meeting is to review the project constraints, proposed work, and solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. 

An environmental review of the project’s potential impacts on natural and cultural resources is underway in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.  This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting.
