Bath 43445 Public Officials/ Public Informational Meeting

NHDOT to discuss the preservation of the bridge carrying Route 135 over the Ammonoosuc River in Bath.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will hold a Public Officials/Public Informational Meeting in Woodsville, NH to discuss the preservation of the bridge carrying Route 135 over the Ammonoosuc River. 

The scope of work consists of preservation efforts to the deck. This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting. The repairs will require closing one lane on the bridge and motorists will utilize one lane of alternating two-way traffic for approximately 20 weeks.

The meeting will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Robert E. Clifford Memorial Building, 65 South Court Street in Woodsville as part of the regularly scheduled Select Board’s meeting starting at 6:00 pm. 

The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting.
