Culvert Work in Bedford

Temporary daytime shoulder closures are anticipated

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has started work to rehabilitate the existing corrugated metal culvert carrying Bowman Brook under Boynton Street and Route 101.

Weather permitting, the work will be performed between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Travel lanes on Boynton Street and NH 101 will remain open at all times. Temporary day time shoulder closures are anticipated and motorists are encouraged to slow down when traveling through the work zone.

Traffic will return to normal operating conditions during non-work hours. Traffic will be maintained on pavement with a minimum lane width of 11 feet, and the shoulder lane closures will not be allowed from 6 am to 8 am, and 2 pm to 5 pm.

Electronic message boards and traffic control devices will be used to alert and assist motorists during the lane closures.

The North East Mechanics, Inc. of Pittsfield NH .is the general contractor for the $1.1 million project, which has a completion date of August 27, 2021.
