Heavy Rain and a High Tide to Bring Flooding to the NH Coastal Roads

Visitors are advised to avoid the NH Seacoast on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is advising visitors to avoid Route 1A in Hampton (the beach area), North Hampton and Rye Beach areas all day on Saturday, January 13, 2024 as rain and the high tide at 12:19 pm will likely result in street flooding and road closures.

The current weather forecast is calling for rain Friday night which will add water to the existing saturated area and a high tide at 12:19 pm will likely flood the Hampton Beach area and other areas along the NH coastal roads with sea water, seafoam, and rocks.  Local police will likely close the area roads and will only allow access to residents and emergency vehicles.

Travelers are encouraged to check newengland511.org for road closures, traffic speeds and driving conditions in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
