I-95 High Level Bridge Inspection

Temporary lane closures will be required during the next three weeks.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the in-depth inspection of the High Level Bridge carrying Interstate 95 over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine. The inspection is scheduled to begin Monday, December 5, 2022 and continue on a Monday through Friday schedule until the inspection is complete or through Friday, December 23, 2022.

The bridge will have a right lane and right shoulder closure as needed and as weather permits from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily. I-95 Northbound will have closures the week of December 5-9, 2022. I-95 Southbound will have closures the week of December 12-16, 2022. Lane closures scheduled for the week of December 19-23, 2022 will consist of I-95 Northbound and Southbound depending on remaining work that is left to complete.

Traffic Control, State Police and warning signs will be used to notify motorists of the lane closure. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes if possible to avoid delays.

In the event of adverse weather, the inspection work may be delayed until the next suitable workday.
