Introducing the Office of Access, Opportunity, and Compliance

Formerly known as the NHDOT Office of Federal Compliance, the new name reflects the Department’s commitment to compliance with state and federal laws.

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is pleased to unveil a name change for the Office of Federal Compliance which will allow NHDOT to better describe and capture its commitment to creating inclusive and broader access to programs and services, as well as opportunities within the Department and in the wider construction industry. Effective, September 1, 2023, the Office of Federal Compliance will now be known as the Office of Access, Opportunity, and Compliance (OAOC).

The new name, Office of Access, Opportunity, and Compliance, reflects the Department’s commitment to providing an environment that ensures accessibility, offers equal opportunities, and adheres to federal and state regulatory standards.

"Our values align perfectly with the principles represented by the new name," said Larisa Djuvelek-Ruggiero, Administrator at the OAOC. "The Office of Access, Opportunity, and Compliance represents our unwavering commitment to creating a level playing field for all employees, contractors, and stakeholders in the transportation sector."

The OAOC will continue to be a driving force behind the Department’s efforts to champion inclusivity, provide equal opportunities, and ensure compliance by:

  • Embracing Inclusive Practices: The OAOC will actively work towards fostering an inclusive culture that welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives within the construction workforce.

  • Expanding Opportunities: With a focus on access and opportunity, the office will develop and support initiatives to promote professional growth, career advancement, and skill development for all employees and stakeholders.

  • Ensuring Regulatory Compliance: The OAOC will diligently uphold federal regulations and industry standards, ensuring ethical conduct and a fair working environment within the construction sector.

By renaming the office, the Department reaffirms its commitment to being at the forefront of inclusion, fair treatment, and equal opportunity. The OAOC will continue to collaborate, both internally and externally, with all departments, partners, contractors, and transportation industry stakeholders to drive positive change and foster a construction community that values and celebrates its diverse workforce.

The Department encourages employees, contractors, and industry peers to actively engage with the OAOC in shaping a construction environment that embraces access, opportunity, and compliance. Together, we can build a stronger construction industry that thrives on diversity, respects individual contributions, and upholds the highest ethical standards.
