Lane Closure on Route 4 in Danbury

One lane will be closed for 10 weeks to construct new approaches to the new bridge.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin the next phase of work on the new bridge over the Northern Railroad on Route 4 in Danbury.  Starting Friday, June 23, 2023, one lane will be closed and two-way traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic signals. The lane closure is required for completing the bridge approaches to the new bridge and will be in place for approximately 8 to 10 weeks.

Motorists are advised to be alert for the new temporary signals. Motorists are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.

Weaver Bros Construction of Bow, NH is the prime contractor of this $4.8 million bridge replacement project, which is scheduled to be completed by October, 20, 2023.
