NHDOT Seeking Public Comments to Update its Public Involvement Process (PIP) Plan

This plan guides the NHDOT outreach efforts for the Public Involvement of several Transportation Programs.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is seeking public comments on its Public Involvement Process (PIP) Plan which guides the outreach efforts for the Public Involvement of several Transportation Programs.

NHDOT conducts its statewide transportation planning activities in compliance with federal and state laws and the public involvement requirements of three elements of the statewide process, specifically the Long‐Range Statewide Transportation Plan (LRTP), the State Ten‐Year Transportation Improvement Plan (TYP), and the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

The purpose of the PIP is to identify the many opportunities for the public and all interested in transportation planning to participate and be publicly involved in these efforts. The PIP provides an overview of the LRTP, TYP and STIP processes and purpose, identifies opportunities to participate and where to find information.  Public participation is critical to the success of transportation planning and projects development in New Hampshire.

The draft document is available for review on NHDOT's website at: https://www.dot.nh.gov/doing-business-nhdot/general-public.  The document may also be obtained by contacting William Watson at (603) 271-3344.

The public comment period will open Monday, April 1, 2024 and runs through the close-of-business (4:00 PM) on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Comments may be sent by mail to the address below or by email to Bureau46@dot.nh.gov.  All comments must be received no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. All comments become part of the public record.
