Springfield Public Hearing

To discuss the proposal to replace the existing red list, twin-pipe bridge that carries Georges Mill Road over Star Lake Outlet.

Pursuant to NH RSA 230:14 and Public Law 100-17 (Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987), a public hearing has been set to discuss the proposal to replace the existing red list, twin-pipe bridge that carries Georges Mill Road over Star Lake Outlet (Br. No. 091/048). The Georges Mill Road improvements will include approximately 725 feet of roadway reconstruction and intersection widening at Stryker Road and Fisher Corner Road to better accommodate truck turning movements.

The venue will be open at 5:30 pm for the inspection of plans by any interested persons.

On November 10, 2021, the Governor and Executive Council approved the petition of the NH Department of Transportation to convene a public hearing to determine whether there is the occasion for the laying out of this project and acquiring necessary rights-of-way.  A Commission of Three Persons was appointed to conduct the hearing and its members are John Simonds, Jessica Hatch and Bruce Temple.

This Notice of Public Hearing contains the date, time, and location of the hearing to the petitioners, the owners of land over which the road may pass, and all others interested.  No less than fourteen days prior to the hearing, this notice will be posted in at least two public places in the Town of Springfield and a copy will be left with the Town Clerk of Springfield.  Interested landowners, local officials and highway users are invited to attend the hearing and will have the opportunity to express their comments relative to the project.  Audio of the hearing will be recorded.

Maps, plans, the environmental studies, and other pertinent information developed for the Department, along with written reports received because of the coordination with other agencies, are available at the Department of Transportation at the John O. Morton Building, 7 Hazen Drive, Concord, New Hampshire for inspection and copying.  Please call Jennifer Reczek, Project Manager, at (603) 271-3401 in advance for an appointment.

Written statements and other exhibits may be submitted to the Chairman of the Commission, c/o Peter E. Stamnas, Director of Project Development, NH Department of Transportation, PO Box 483, Concord, NH 03302 0483 up to the date of the hearing for inclusion in the official record.
