Wetlands
The Wetlands Program guides the Department relative to issues relating to wetland/shoreland permitting, as well as assists in developing potential avoidance, minimization and mitigation measures for Department projects and maintenance activities. The Wetlands Program also assists Department personnel in preparing and submitting the proper documentation necessary to obtain permits from the appropriate federal and state authorities, while managing the environmental review of lands proposed for disposal (surplus lands).
