Traffic Design
Traffic Design plans and designs operational improvements involving traffic control devices, provides specialized support to the Division of Project Development, and reviews traffic control devices for driveway permit applications and municipal requests.
As the Department’s experts on matters related to traffic engineering and operation, Traffic Design is responsible for interpreting and applying each successive edition of the MUTCD and maintaining the traffic standard plans and specifications. They also play a key role in traffic control planning and implementation for large-scale special events throughout the State.
