Construction

The Bureau of Construction is responsible for contract administration, audit documentation, and quality control of all transportation construction projects. The bureau also staffs statewide area coordinators of landscaping, environmental protection, and quality assurance.

"Each year, the Department of Transportation implements an average of one hundred and fifty million dollars worth of highway-related projects throughout the State, using a low-bid contracting procedure. The Bureau of Construction has the responsibility of administering these contracts and overseeing the quality of the construction to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and other standards."
